Summary of Acceptable Use

  • Don't Hack Us: Do not attempt SQL injection, XSS, rate-limit bypassing, or unauthorized vulnerability scans.
  • Strict Anti-AI Scraping: Automated scrapers, bots, crawlers, and AI training harvesters are strictly prohibited without an express commercial license.
  • No Sybil Attacks or Vote Rings: Creating multiple accounts to manipulate post rankings, upvotes, or clickbait reports is strictly banned.
  • No Impersonation: Do not impersonate game developers (Rockstar, Take-Two), studio employees, platform administrators, or other users.
  • No Exploits or Bug Abuse: If you discover a bug (especially in currency, badges, or permissions), report it responsibly. Exploiting bugs will result in a permanent ban.
  • Responsible Security Disclosure: Send security disclosures to gameoctofficial@gmail.com (Subject: "[Security Disclosure]").

1.0 Purpose & Scope

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") defines the technical, operational, and ethical rules governing interaction with GameOct's servers, databases, APIs, content delivery networks, and progressive web application. This policy applies to all registered members and visitors.

2.0 Permitted Platform Usage

Users are granted access to the Platform exclusively for personal, non-commercial gaming community participation, including:

  • Browsing feeds, game modes, and news dispatches;
  • Publishing original gaming content, discussions, and screenshots;
  • Submitting coordinate markers and discoveries on interactive game maps;
  • Interacting with fellow gamers via comments, upvotes, awards, and the "Find Buddy" matchmaking directory.

3.0 Prohibited Technical Activities

You agree that you will not directly, indirectly, or through automated means:

  1. Security Testing & Intrusions: Scan, probe, or test the vulnerability of any GameOct endpoint, Supabase database, Cloudflare firewall, or server system without prior written authorization from our security team.
  2. Exploit Execution: Execute, deploy, or facilitate SQL injection, Cross-Site Scripting (XSS), Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF), server-side request forgery (SSRF), or command execution attacks against the Platform.
  3. Denial of Service (DoS/DDoS): Flood our servers with requests, generate artificial traffic spikes, or attempt to exhaust bandwidth, database connection pools, or compute resources.
  4. Rate Limit Circumvention: Rotate IP addresses, use proxies, or deploy multi-threading to bypass server-side rate limits on posting, commenting, voting, feedback submissions, or media uploads.
  5. Reverse Engineering: Decompile, disassemble, reverse engineer, or decrypt client code, database stored procedures, or proprietary map coordinate indexing algorithms.
  6. Authentication Tampering: Forge session tokens, bypass Google OAuth authentication flows, or attempt privilege escalation into administrative or moderator roles.
  7. Malware Distribution: Upload files containing viruses, Trojans, worms, spyware, ransomware, keyloggers, or malicious payloads disguised as gaming media.

4.0 Automated Access, AI Training & Scraping Rules

4.1 Strict Prohibition of AI / LLM Training. Automated harvesting, scraping, crawling, or extracting of GameOct text discussions, map coordinates, user bios, comment threads, or uploaded images for training, fine-tuning, or benchmarking artificial intelligence models, large language models (LLMs), neural networks, or machine learning datasets is strictly prohibited.

4.2 No Unauthorized Bots. You may not deploy:

  • Web scrapers, crawlers, or screen harvesters;
  • Automated posting scripts or headless browser bots;
  • Automated vote manipulation or award distribution tools.

4.3 Search Engine Indexing. Legitimate commercial web search engines (such as Google, Bing, and DuckDuckGo) may index public pages strictly in accordance with our published robots.txt directives.

5.0 Impersonation, Sybil Attacks & Platform Integrity

5.1 No Impersonation. You may not misrepresent your identity, falsely claim affiliation with GameOct, or impersonate game developers (including Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar Games, Sony, Microsoft, Valve), studio personnel, moderators, public figures, or other users.

5.2 No Sybil Attacks or Vote Rings. You may not operate multi-accounting networks, coordinated brigading channels, or vote-trading groups to distort community rankings, inflate post visibility, or farm karma and awards.

6.0 Economic & Marketplace Abuse

6.1 OctCoin Integrity. You may not exploit bugs, race conditions, or network latencies to duplicate, multiply, or artificially create OctCoins, award tiers, or verified badges.

6.2 Bug Exploitation Prohibition. If you discover a vulnerability or glitch that allows unintended coin generation, permission bypass, or database tampering, you must cease using the exploit immediately and report it to gameoctofficial@gmail.com. Exploiting vulnerabilities for personal gain or sharing them with others results in an immediate permanent ban and legal referral.

6.3 No Account Brokering. You may not buy, sell, trade, or auction GameOct accounts, usernames, or OctCoin balances.

7.0 Responsible Security Disclosure

We appreciate the assistance of ethical security researchers. If you discover a security vulnerability on GameOct, please notify us under our Responsible Disclosure Program:

  • Contact: gameoctofficial@gmail.com (Subject: "Vulnerability Disclosure")
  • Guidelines: Provide detailed steps to reproduce the issue, allow reasonable time for remediation prior to public disclosure, and avoid accessing or compromising user data.

8.0 Enforcement & Remedies

8.1 Administrative Action. Violations of this AUP constitute a material breach of our Terms of Service. GameOct reserves the right to immediately terminate accounts, blacklist IP ranges, revoke virtual balances, and report criminal conduct to cybercrime authorities.

8.2 Legal Injunctions. GameOct reserves the right to seek emergency injunctive relief, statutory damages, and computer fraud remedies under applicable computer protection legislation for deliberate network intrusions.
